Just before the 2012 holiday break, Moulinex launched its 3rd Moulinex You Cook Video Recipe Challenge,  a competition among culinary and hospitality management students, wherein entries are submitted in video clips showing the ingredients and procedure through a cooking demo using Moulinex food preparation products.

Moulinex, who believes in the cooking prowess of the Filipina women will be on the lookout for female cooks who have the passion for serving delectable home-cooked meals on its 3rd Moulinex You Cook Video Recipe Challenge.

This is definitely a good news to moms and even single ladies who appreciates easy preparation of dishes with the use of innovative products such as Moulinex.

Without any further ado, let’s take a look at the MECHANICS for this year’s Moulinex You Cook Video Recipe Challenge Year

•Female, aged 18 to 40 years old
•Filipino citizen
•Single or married
•A resident of National Capital Region or nearby provincial areas
•Any female who has the abovementioned qualifications can join the competition provided that she:


  • Has not worked and/or is not currently working as a professional cook or chef here in the Philippines or abroad
  • Does not own a restaurant or a culinary school
  • Is not a current instructor of culinary studies or related course in a culinary school, college,
    or university
  • Not a current student of First Gourmet Academy

How to join
There are 3 ways to submit entries in order to join the contest:

A. By mail


Enclose in an envelope the original video recipe in a CD format together with the completely filled-out entry form.

Address it to

B. In person
Visit our office and submit an original video recipe entry at the address listed above. Original video recipe should be in a CD format and enclosed in an envelope together with the completely filled-out entry form.

Address it to: Mr. Marvin Mancera, Brand Marketing Assistant for Moulinex.

C. By e-mail
Upload your video recipe entry on YouTube and send the link of your video to moulinexyoucook@gmail.com. Send all the other requirements including the completely filled-out and scanned entry form. Indicate “You Cook 3 Entry” in the subject field.
For verification Upon submission of entries, Collins International Trading Corporation (through Mr. Marvin Mancera) shall send an acknowledgment letter to the participants who have submitted their entries to confirm the receipt of the original recipe video entry. The acknowledgment letter will be sent to the e-mail address indicated by the participant in her entry form. In the event that the participant who submitted an entry does not receive an acknowledgment letter within 48 hours upon submission, the contestant must notify us by calling (02) 681-6161 and look for Mr. Marvin Mancera.

REQUIREMENTS
Entry requirements

  • Usage of at least one (1) Moulinex product on the participant’s entry is required, however, purchase of Moulinex products is NOT required.
  • Moulinex item(s) can be borrowed or currently owned by the contestant. Contestant may choose to purchase a new Moulinex item for the purpose of using it for the making of the video recipe, but this shall be done on a voluntary basis and shall not be tantamount to making a “required” purchase of a Moulinex product in order to join the contest.

Recipe requirements
The Moulinex Video Recipe Challenge seeks video entries that:
•Feature signature dishes/homemade specialties (dishes that can go with rice)
•Must be prepared using any Moulinex Appliances
•Must include standard measurements, complete preparation instructions, cooking time and
temperatures, and number of servings.

In making the video, the following must be observed:
•The duration of the video must be within a maximum time of ten (10) minutes.
•The contestants must state their name, age, and place of residence.
•The contestants must say the recipe name and a brief description of the recipe. State the reason
why it is chosen. Enumerate and discuss all the ingredients that will be used in the doing the recipe.
•The contestants must clearly show the food preparation procedure.
•The contestants must use at least ONE Moulinex product in preparing his/her recipe. Contestants
should not feature in the video small kitchen appliance products from competing brands.

The following must be submitted together with the video recipe entry:
•Scanned file or photocopy of birth certificate
•Scanned file or photocopy of current school ID (for student contestants)
•Curriculum Vitae
•Completely filled-out Entry form
•Soft copy of 1 medium-shot photo and 1 close-up photo of the contestant

  1. Ms. Amy Ferrer
    Started her career in the hotel industry when she joined Mandarin Oriental Manila as Guest Services & Creative Supervisor and then with The Peninsula Hotel as F&B Duty Manager
    Currently, she is the Food and Beverage Manager of the prestigious InterContinental Hotel Manila
  2. Chef Rory Subida
    Seasoned chef with more than 25 years of experienced in the field of Culinary Training, Food and Beverage Operations
    Involved in the preparation and publication of more than 25 volumes of Maya Cookbooks
    Continue to serve as the Culinary Directress/Manager of the Maya Culinary Arts Center Manila
  3. Ms. Nina Daza-Puyat
    Graduate from Cornell University in New York with Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration
    Used to host a cooking show with his brother Sandy in “Cooking It Up with the Dazas”
    Previously worked as a food stylist , cookbook author and columnist
    Daughter of Philippine culinary icon Ms. Nora Daza
    Now the Editor-in-Chief of Appetite Magazine
  4. Chef Mats Loo
    Begun his career at the age of 14 in Sweden
    Worked with affluent restaurants in Spain, London, Sweden, and the United States. His works as a chef has been landed and featured in the most prestigious kitchens and high class hotels in Europe
    Director and owner of the First Gourmet Academy located in Quezon City.
  5. Chef Rosebud Benitez
    Graduate from the Center for Culinary Arts
    Has hosted and presented several media and live events and has appeared as a guest in several TV productions of varying formats and genres. She was part of the TV cooking show Ka-Toque together with other young chef and then became the host of the popular show “Quickfire- a 10 minute cooking show”

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

Qualifying round

  • All entries submitted on or before January 31, 2013 at 6:00 pm shall be collected and are subject to be viewed by the judges and Moulinex Marketing Team for screening.
  • The judging for the Qualifying Round will be on February 8, 2013 (1:00-6:00 pm).
  • The objective of the qualifying round is to choose Top 16 entries that will be included in the Semi-Final Round.
  • All entries will be judged with the following criteria:

Creativity and Originality 20 %
Ease of Preparation 20 %
Optimization of Moulinex products 20 %
Visual Appeal 15 %
Video Presentation 15 %
Pleasing Personality 10 %
Total 100 %

Semi-finals

  • The chosen 16 semi-finalists will have an actual cooking demonstration of their recipes that they have presented in their video entries, on February 8, 2013, 1:00-6:00 pm.
  • The qualifiers must bring their own ingredients and utensils.
  • For the Moulinex appliances needed in preparing the recipes, the contestants can bring their own personal units or may borrow from CITC upon their request, subject to the items’ availability.

The recipe must be prepared within one and a half hours or less. In this phase, the judges shall consider the following criteria for judging:
Taste 25 %
Mise en Pláce / Ease of Preparation 20 %
Creativity / Originality 15 %
Visual Appeal 15 %
Optimization of Moulinex products 15 %
Pleasing Personality 10 %
Total 100 %

Grand finals

  • Eight finalists have to prepare for a cooking showdown that will be conducted during the Grand Finals, wherein random ingredients will be given to them and they have to come up with a recipe out of it.
  • The judges then shall consider the following:
    Palatability 25 %
    Creativity / Originality 20 %
    Visual Appeal 15 %
    Ease of Preparation 15 %
    Optimization of Moulinex products 15 %
    Audience Impact 10 %
    Total 100 %
