Mang Inasal Opens 500th Store
If I will ever migrate to another country, one thing that I will surely miss is Filipino food. Having tried different cuisine, Pinoy food remains my top favorite cuisine. The choices are just overwhelming from appetizer, mains, to dessert. One of my favorites is inasal, it's a Filipino variant of roast chicken marinated in a mixture of lime, pepper, vinegar, and annato. One of the best chicken and affordable inasal can be found in Mang Inasal.
Mang Inasal started in a space in Robinsons Mall Iloilo in 2003. It grew bigger, opening 30 branches in three years. Mang Inasal is famous for its "nuot-sarap" chicken inasal with unlimited rice.
Today, Mang Inasal is the leading Pinoy branded outlet in the country, with its strong portfolio of Chicken Inasal, Pork BBQ, Halo Halo, and Palabok.
Mang Inasal has steadily grown ever since its acquisition, making it one of the fastest growing quick service restaurants in the country. Recently, Mang Inasal opened its 500th store where it all started, in Iloilo. There was a simultaneous celebration from different Mang Inasal branches in the country. I was in Mang Inasal Roosevelt Del Monte to join the celebration.
Mang Inasal kicked off the grand opening festivities on June 19, with the unveiling of a commemorative 500‘" store marker. It is made up of banana leaves encased in resin and arranged in Pintados pattern. The inscription takes pride of Mang lnasal’s growth in the past 15 years.
Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) Chairman and Founder Tony Tan Caktiong, JFC Chief Executive Officer Ernesto Tanmantiong, and JFC Country Business Group Head for the Philippines Joseph Tanbuntiong led the unveiling of the ceremonial marker, the ribbon-cutting, and the ceremonial first bite of the iconic Chicken Inasal. They were accompanied by Guests of Honor lloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa lll, Iloilo City Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon, Mang Inasal founder and now Double Dragon Properties, Corp. Chairman and CEO Edgar “lnjap” Sia ll.
